Accessibility statement

Compliance status

The application is compliant with the Act. It was built to WCAG 2.1 level AA.

Exemptions (features outside the requirement, art. 3(2) of the Act):

The 3D model view and augmented-reality (AR) mode for lost buildings are supplementary content. Every such site has a full, equivalent text description.
The base map is supplied by the external OpenStreetMap / OpenFreeMap service and is not produced by the entity. The app's interactive map is fully keyboard-operable (see below) and every site is also reachable without the map.

Accessibility of content added after launch (image alternative text, copy) is the responsibility of the entity's editor; the data editor requires alternative text for every photograph.

Keyboard and assistive use

Keyboard navigation: Tab / Shift+Tab moves focus, Enter / Space activates, Esc closes dialogs and panels; modal dialogs trap focus and return focus to the element that opened them when closed.
A global search (magnifier icon on the map) finds sites, routes, collections and stories by name and by description text, regardless of Polish diacritics.
The map from the keyboard: arrow keys pan, + / − zoom, Shift with the arrow keys rotates and tilts the view. The map carries a label and description for screen readers. The same set of sites is also available as a list and through the search.
The application honours the system reduced-motion setting and light / dark mode.
Site descriptions can be read as text in 5 languages instead of listened to; narration is a recording or the browser's speech synthesis, with word highlighting.
No cookies and no analytics. Visiting progress is stored only locally in the browser.
The application works offline after the region's data is downloaded.

The same channel may be used to request inaccessible information and to file complaints about a failure to ensure accessibility.

Anyone may request that the application, or an element of it, be made digitally accessible. The request should include the requester's details, the part of the application concerned, and a contact method. The public entity fulfils the request without undue delay, within 7 days at most. If that is not possible, it informs the requester of the reason and a new deadline of no more than 2 months. If accessibility is refused, a complaint may be submitted to {{SUPERVISING BODY}} and then to the Commissioner for Human Rights.

turysta.uk is a digital service with no premises or in-person service. Information on the physical accessibility of the sites it describes (entrance, ramp, parking, toilet) is given — where data is available — with each site under "Practical information".
