Description

The Holy Spirit hospital – a shelter for the poor and sick – was founded in 1600 by Stanisław Reszka (1544–1600), a Buk-born priest, diplomat and secretary to Cardinal Stanisław Hozjusz; construction was overseen by the Poznań suffragan bishop Jakub Brzeźnicki. The present masonry building on the square named after Reszka was thoroughly rebuilt in the mid-19th century, gaining Neo-Renaissance features. Listed in the monuments register on 17 October 1968, today it is used for housing.
