Privacy policy

The turysta.uk application is designed to work without collecting personal data. This page explains what happens to information while you use it.

Controller

What we do not do

No user accounts, no sign-in.
No cookies or comparable tracking technologies.
No third-party analytics, advertising or social plugins.
No profiling and no combining of data from different sources.

Location (GPS)

If you turn on the guide, the app asks the browser for your position so it can start site descriptions nearby and guide you along a route. Your position is processed only on your device and is never sent anywhere. You can withdraw permission at any time in your browser settings.

Browser storage

The app stores in your browser's local storage (localStorage) only your settings and visiting progress: language, theme, visited sites and earned badges, a saved route plan, and whether offline data has been downloaded. This data never leaves your device and you can remove it by clearing site data or with the "Clear progress" button in the Passport tab.

Anonymous view counter

To gauge how often the app is used, opening the page sends a single request that increments an aggregate view counter for that region and day. The request contains no user identifier, stores nothing on your device, and the server does not keep your IP address or any other data — it only increases a number. Because there is no processing of personal data and no access to information on your device, the counter does not require consent; it is described here for transparency. Only the administrator can see the results.

Hosting

The app is served as static files by a CDN provider (Cloudflare). Like any web server, the provider may transiently process technical connection data (including IP address) to deliver content and protect against abuse, on the basis of legitimate interest. turysta.uk has no access to those logs in a form that identifies you.

Map and routes

Map tiles are fetched from OpenFreeMap servers, and from the Protomaps schema in offline mode. Route geometries were pre-computed with the BRouter engine — the app does not connect to it at runtime.

Your rights

To the extent any data were processed, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, Poland). In practice, apart from your own browser storage (which you control), the app keeps no data that could be linked to you.
